Other Vet Services

In addition to the more common things a vet might take care of we also offer a number of other services.

Laboratory

Our in-house laboratory has a wide range of equipment enabling haematological, biochemical and urine investigations to be undertaken. This facility means that rapid results can be obtained and appropriate treatment can be given to your pet straight away.

Outside laboratories services are sometimes required for more specialist tests.

Diets

Our practice stocks a number of non-prescription diets at competitive prices. We also stock a wide range of prescription diets for treating specific conditions. Other specialist diets can also be ordered on request. Advice on suitable diets is available from our veterinary surgeons or our team of nurses.

Identichips

The practice believes all pets should be identichipped (microchipped) as normal tags may be lost. All stray or injured animals brought into the practice are routinely scanned to see if an owner can be quickly identified.

Pet Passports

For clients wishing to move abroad or take their pets abroad on holiday we offer the Defra approved passport system. In order to obtain a passport pets require an identichip and rabies vaccination. A blood test is no longer required making it even easier. Please ask a vet for full details of obtaining passports.

Insurance

Due to the increasing availability of specialist treatment and diagnostic procedures as well as the increasing costs of drugs we encourage clients to consider pet insurance. Advice on insurance is available from the vets.

Nurse Clinics

The practice periodically holds free nurse clinics for flea checks, dental checks and advise on dietary matters. The nurses also hold puppy parties to help with the socialisation of young pups.

Note: We request clients pay for all consultations , drugs and routine procedures at the time of consultations either by cash, cheque or credit/debit card. A list of current fees and charges for professional services is displayed in reception.
