Prescriptions for your pets

The practice offers a dispensing service to registered clients. Medicine regulations require that the animal be checked periodically to make sure that the medicine prescribed is appropriate to the animals current condition and to check that the medicine is not causing any undesired side effects. For most medicines this requires a health check twice a year but for certain conditions a more frequent check may need to be made at the vets discretion.

Some flea and worm products are available over the counter without the need for a health check but some of the more powerful drugs will require an annual check before they may be dispensed.

Please give our staff 24 hours notice for a repeat prescription in order that they may check with a veterinary surgeon that the prescription is appropriate and have time to prepare the prescription.

We can also supply written prescriptions for clients to purchase medicines elsewhere, but please be aware that a charge is made for this service.

The Redruth surgery is open from 8.30 to 6.30 and the Camborne Surgery is open from 9.00 to 6.00 to collect prescriptions. The Redruth Surgery does not close for lunch but the Camborne Surgery is closed between 1.00pm and 2.00pm.
